Enjoy more of Denver during conference! Join Gil Asakawa who will lead a tour and talk about the history of the Asians who settled in the metro area. Gil is an author, journalist, editor and blogger on Asian Americans. For more information about Gil follow him on Twitter @GilAsakawa or his blog, nikkeiview.com.

On Friday, February 9, 2018, tour attendees will meet at the Convention Center at 10:00 am just inside the building where The Blue Bear is peering in, on the 14th Street side. We will take a 20- minute or so walk to Sakura Square to meet Gil for our tour. You can also come directly to Sakura Square and meet in front of the Governor Carr bust at 10:30 a.m.  Pay-on-your-own lunch follows at noon at J.J.’s Bistro.  Be sure to pack your snow boots – it’s winter in Colorado!

If you’d like to sponsor a student to attend, simply submit the order form and note that you are registering on behalf of a student. For APALA members, the tour costs $10/person; non-members cost $15/person.  If you are a student that would like to attend, please send an email to Charlene Hsu Gross at charlene.hsu.gross@gmail.com to indicate your interest. You’ll be informed once you are matched with a sponsor!
