CONFERENCE PROGRAMS
The Program and Local Arrangements committees have produced programs
that inspire and stimulate as well as provide practical information
to members and other appreciative attendees.
The annual APALA Conference, held during the ALA Annual Conference,
includes a program, membership meeting and a social function. The
programs are usually related to the theme of the current ALA president.
Examples of past programs include 1995's "Identity and Achievement
-- Proud to be an American, Proud to be Who I Am!" and 1996's "Partners
on the Information Superhighway: an Asian Pacific America Perspective,"
which spotlighted APA achievers in nuclear physics, publishing,
play writing, community education, and literature. APA cultural
performances and writers' readings of their works were featured
in these programs.
