Librarian, Public Services and Instruction

Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, you will support the Library team by providing leadership and guidance in the areas of Access Services (circulation, reserves, coordination of service coverage), and by providing leadership in coordinating, designing, and delivering instructional services and curriculum related to program specific research skills. Additional duties include program liaison, selection, and management of selected program acquisition funds.

Required Qualifications/Competencies (education, skills and abilities):

· Masters degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent graduate degree (a second graduate degree is an asset)

· At least five years of relevant experience, together with a record of increasing responsibility in a post secondary library environment

· Strong computer skills (integrated library systems, html editing applications, and MS Office suite)

· Excellent communication and organization skills

· Strong instructional skills (essential)

· Ability to effectively manage available resources (people, information, equipment, and money)

· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work independently

· Proven record of success working in a team environment

This is a temporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per week for approximately ten months. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. As this is a term position the University is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of benefits coverage. (If you are currently enrolled in the RRU Benefits Plan your coverage will remain unchanged.)
