DUTIES
The Ocean County Library, Toms River Headquarters Branch, is seeking an energetic and creative Librarian to join the Team in the Adult/Teen/Information Services Department. We are seeking a person who is customer service oriented, has outstanding communication skills, the ability to answer a variety of questions with enthusiasm and who wants to join a team of co-workers servicing teens and adults. You will serve our diverse public by performing varied reference duties including answering customer questions, assisting in the use of library online and print resources, and making recommendations on the collection. You will participate with the Q and A - NJ project in providing virtual references. You will also develop and conduct internet classes and other programs both inside the library and the community sites that inspire reading, build self-esteem and foster a life long relationship with libraries. Experience in library event (author visits, speakers, film series, etc) planning is a plus. Become a part of a library system that is dedicated to excellence, diversity and the joy of libraries.

REQUIREMENTS
A Master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program from a library school accredited by the State Board of Education and a New Jersey Professional Librarian certificate.

One year of professional librarian experience required for Senior Librarian.
