As a member of the Claire T. Carney Library team, the Archivist/Librarian is responsible for implementing plans for the development of the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese American Archives, a unit within the University’s Archives and Special Collections. The Archivist/Librarian will work closely with the University Archivist, the Faculty Director of the Archives, and the Portuguese-American community to acquire and organize primary source materials and to promote the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives. S/he will develop the Portuguese-American oral history collection and participate in other activities, such as grant writing and fundraising, for the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives. S/he will participate in collection development and provide reference, cataloging, and outreach service.
