This recruitment is Open and Promotional. Anyone may apply. (San Mateo
County and San Mateo County Superior Court employees in good standing
with at least six months of continuous service will receive preferential

Responses to the Supplemental Questions in addition to our regular
employment application form must be submitted by April 23, 2009 by
11:59 p.m.
A screening committee will select those applicants whose education
and experience appear to best meet the needs of the position and invite
these candidates to a panel interview (weight: 100%), which may include
the evaluation of a brief written/ performance exercise given immediately
preceding the interview. Because of the screening process, all applicants
meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement
through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations
will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must
participate at their own expense.
Salary and Benefits
Currently the annual salary range for Library Branch Manager is $76,482
- $95,597. Salary is negotiated within the range depending on the
candidates experience and qualifications. The County offers
an excellent benefits package that is available to spouses, domestic
partners, and other dependents and includes:
Retirement System - Choice of two County Retirement System plans.
Medical & Dental Insurance - Choice of several plans with the
majority of the premium paid for employee and eligible family members.
Vision Care Plan - Fully paid for employee and eligible dependents.
Additional Insurance - Family Death, Disability and Life Insurance
policies are also available to employees.
Long Term Disability benefits fully paid by the County.
Vacation - Employees receive 13 paid days a year for the first 5 years
of service. Additional days are added with increased years of service.
Administrative Leave - Employees accrue 130 hours per year to use
as time off.
