The Reference & Instruction Department (four librarians + one assistant) is an integral part of the new Academic Commons, which provides coordinated information, research, technology, and learning assistance. The department operates as a self-directed team, working collaboratively to plan, implement, and evaluate services. The team provides leadership and direction for all aspects of the departments services, programs, and operations in the areas of reference and research assistance, instruction and information literacy, outreach and promotion, and print and electronic resources. The position will also include some work with archives/special collections. All librarians in the team report to the Director of Libraries. Oberlin College is located in Oberlin, OH, 35 miles
from Cleveland, and is noted for its architecture, public spaces,
and vibrant cultural life. Substantial reference experience required,
with 2+ years professional experience strongly preferred. For full
