Family Engagement Toolkit: The Public Library Association Family Engagement Toolkit was developed as part of the Libraries Transform public awareness campaign. It offers both strategy and tactics for family engagement advocates, including message points, customizable graphics, promotional ideas, and program examples.

Collection Development

APALA Rubric to Evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander American Youth Literature: Rubric to evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander American youth literature. This guide was created by the APALA Family Literacy Focus committee for critically assessing and reviewing APIA books.

Best of the Best Booklist: List of picture books celebrating stories from across the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) diaspora.  Titles nominated by APALA members and curated by the APALA Family Literature Focus Committee.

API/APIA Book Lists: Curated lists representing high quality APIA children’s and young adult books. These titles have been carefully selected by the APALA Family Literacy Focus committee.

APALA Literature Awards: Annual book awards that honor and recognize individual works about Asian and Pacific Islander Americans and their heritage, based on literary and artistic merit. Awards given out for picture book, youth literature, and young adult literature.

Cooperative Children’s Book Center: Diversity resources: This page provides links to CCBC diversity resources, and selected links to resources beyond the CCBC.

Pacific Islanders in Publishing: Created to amplify the many cultures and peoples across Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia in publishing; to support creators and publishing professionals of Pacific Islander descent.
