APALA Community Kitchen

APALA family, do you consistently make a family favorite recipe? Spend New Year’s Eve wrapping dumplings? Celebrate Diwali pinching samosas? Calling our foodies, cooks and culinary experimenters! Here’s your chance to share and connect!

APALA is embarking on this new project, APALA Community Kitchen, a periodic web series featuring APALA members sharing their favorite Asian/Pacific Islander American recipes. We hope to use the project as a way to build community while we’re far apart (we miss banquets!), and to highlight the creativity, artistry, and diversity of our community.

We are officially welcoming submissions!

If you’d like to participate, send the text of your recipe and any visuals you’d like to accompany your recipe (this can be video, photographs, illustrations, whatever helps you communicate best! Get creative!) to communications@apalaweb.org. You can also email us with any questions you have.

To kick things off, here’s our very own Molly Higgins, of the M&P committee, sharing her family recipe for hoisin roast chicken. If you’re looking for a festive, but relatively small holiday meal, we encourage you to try cooking this yourselves!
