Greetings APALA!

We’re about four months into the year, and all our APALA committees and task forces are ready to go. This go-round, about 115 of you answered the call to volunteer your time, energy, and service to APALA. Our regional chapters are also in full swing, bringing us closer together and building community. I couldn’t be more humbled or grateful for the enthusiasm and talent you all commit to our organization.

Announcements & News

APALA’s Scholarships & Awards Committee is honored to announce scholarship recipients for the International Indigenous Librarians’ Forum: Thanh Mai K’taaya Bercher, Desireé Castro-Manner, Erlinda C. Naputi, and Stephen Shaw. The APALA Executive Board has provided funds for the first time for members to attend this forum. Read the full press release here.

The APALA Media & Publicty Committee is seeking interested APALA members to review books!  If you have a book in mind that you would like to review, we would love to hear what you’re excited about reading!  We also have books we would like to match with reviewers if you don’t have a specific title in mind.  Contact communications@apalaweb.org for more information.
